Mythical security and the square fried egg.
Someone sold a bridge today, to someone, somewhere.
It’s easy to shop.
No trouble to buy.
Value is scarcer.
Discerning decisions and the wisdom of available land.
By noon.

The hotel sat near the top of the mountain.
We were glad it sat and didn’t get up and walk away – it was the only good place to stay.
Camels chewed something – or seemed to – wherever they wandered below.
They asked us not to take photographs of the camels. You might know why.
We were excited enough to be there, just to be able to talk with them and ask questions.
And what’s more, they all smiled so freely and easily.
Fly in, walk out slowly.

A smile so big, so multi-dimensional, it was dangerous – people took chase.
We looked. We discovered a small rabbit, a goat and an umbrella.
It was not raining, there was no cheese and we offered lettuce.
Food. It always comes into the story.
It’s how people meet and adopt each other as friends.
Coffee, tea or kefir work fine too.
Ke-what?
Yes that’s what we thought. Then we enjoyed it.

Whether it was the old table, the chairs that had to be positioned just-so to stop them wobbling like a house of cards, or just the air, the frangipan, the view, it was something.
We felt as if we were a rainbow cast from an angelic magician. Yes we were the rainbow, it was us.
Who are you – they wondered, then asked, then gave up enquiring. All so that they could join in the delight of dallying in the delightful dizziness of the moment.
It went on for days.
The early mornings, the hot noons, the calm dinner evenings.
I’ll show you where to go. And, where to sit.

Fondling fermented memories.
The maze was a good place to get lost.
It was in fact impossible not to get lost, no-one had ever mastered it the first time.
Perhaps a ball of string would have helped?
They tried that.
And no modern elecronic device would work there.
Everyone came out looking years younger – when they finally appeared.
Getting lost is good.
