"Wisdom and inspiration: thought provoking, humourous, delightful, guru-like, quirky, energizing, enabling, challenging, alerting, awakening….the way individuals, teams and groups start every day as a Great Day" – The Replies Book

Are you sure you’re going to wear that silver foil dinner jacket tonight?

What if it stands out?

And then if you feel awkward?

Well, I just wanted to send you a quick note with these thoughts, questions yes, but really to alert you and make sure you get the best out of the occasion.

In a distant future we will know the answers and so will you, or you will know and we will guess.

And I suppose, it really isn’t important. That is unless it’s a big deal to you?

Call me if you feel the need to discuss it.

I’ll be sitting at the top table, but feel free to come and say hello, I’d like that.

Hope you enjoy the evening and perhaps meet someone you like.

Hello and how are you?

Five words.

And how are your sisters?

Five words.

Really good to see you.

Five words.

We can meet for coffee.

Five words.

Admittedly, sometimes you need six words.

The wheels were spining freely and quietly.

That oil, had helped.

The start-stop partially jammed motions of yesterday were gone.

Today it was silky smooth, a twin for the best Swiss watch movements.

Beyond lubrication, the engineering was key.

Always looking for the most important ingredients, even when all of them are essential.

First published on one first day of April, yet this was not (intended to be) funny.

There were so many yachts busily sailing in the pond behind our mansion, we felt it unwise to try and swim.

Still, it was evening, food was cooking…we could smell it.

What was also in the air, was air. Part oxygen, part nitrogen and part aromas of cooking.

We expected guests for dinner from Italy, Bolivia and Taiwan and yes, a few Europeans as they liked to be called.

We were from elsewhere, somewhere beyond reckoning and off the route networks of airlines.

But now we were here, so to speak.

Another foot or two.

Parking was a slow process.

A ship that is longer than two tennis courts, a laptop and a Walmart parking lot in Arkansas together, is tricky to park in a “small” space.

But we can do it.

We practiced (a few dents, but no harm done).

We studied, and eventually they called us “Captain”.
