Review your responses to questions.

From time to time it’s good to remember a few questions you were asked, by several different people and about varied topics. A question could be just the asking of your opinion.

How did you answer, did it really represent you and your own ideas, or were you answering with overheard reports ideas put forward by others?

Up to you how you use this. You will find it helps to be aware of your own modes, moods and the way you communicate ideas.

It’s not a test, it’s a playpen for improvement and advancement.

A barber says to his latest customer “how would you like it?”

The customer replies “medium rare with a spinach salad”

Suprised and a little mystified, the barber says “sir, you are joking?”

“Not at all” says the customer “the last time I asked for a short back and sides, I was given a rather small glass of wine and a tiny dish of ketchup”

“That doesn’t make any sense, sir, were they listening?”

…Now it’s your turn, you can complete the tale and add the punchline – or wait for tomorrow’s reply where this will not be mentioned again and you can heave a sigh of relief!

This doesn’t mean you should become a clown. But don’t avoid using a tool just because it doesn’t fit every occasion.

Besides, it’s enjoyable!

Imagine each item in every conceivable position, different arrangements.

Often a solution appears. What did not fit, now fits neatly and snugly with space to spare.

…Solutions are waiting to be found like a lost child.

Most systems, organizations and rules are designed to deal with standard, events, standard scenarios….standard people!

Sometimes the only solution is a truly creative one. Very creative.

If you are not standard, perhaps “ahead of the curve”, there will be occasions when you do not fit the mold.

At first this may seem problematic. But it’s a good sign.

If you are doing or creating something new, it is likely it needs a new “mold” – you need to create that too!
